Founded in 1999 Drainage 2000 has embraced its position within the area and tried to support the friends we have made in the region over the past 20+ years. We believe that by recruiting locally where possible and by giving back to good causes, we have built a strong bond with the local community.

Our company motto is Excellence comes as standard We look to embrace this principle with our work to support the residents of Derbyshire who have helped grow our business with their much-appreciated custom.

The Sick Childrens Trust

“It’s important for local businesses to give back - especially to such a worthwhile cause.”

For a number of years, Drainage 2000 has supported a local Chesterfield family in its fundraising efforts for The Sick Children’s Trust. Events and fundraisers the company have been involved with include the Reverse Advent Calendar, the Leverton Ball and donating all proceeds from monthly dress down Fridays.

About The Sick Children’s Trust

The Sick Children’s Trust is working towards a future where every family with a seriously ill child in hospital will be able to stay together, just minutes from their child’s bed during their treatment. The charity believes keeping families together significantly improves the recovery of seriously ill children. The Sick Children’s Trust provides free, high-quality ‘Home from Home’ accommodation, as well as emotional and practical support, to families with sick children in hospital in the UK.

Sick Children’s Trust was founded in 1982 by two paediatric specialists Dr Jon Pritchard and Professor James Malpas. Today they have ten ‘Homes from Home’ at major hospitals around the country where families can stay free of charge. There is a growing demand for their ‘Homes from Home’ as children must increasingly travel long distances to get the specialist treatment they need.

Leverton Ball 2016

Founder of Drainage 2000, Andy Moreton, attended the Leverton Ball, organised by Marcus Leverton in 2016. This was the seventh year that Marcus had organised a black-tie event for the charity, raising thousands of pounds every year. At the event in 2016, Marcus emphasised why every year he spends months and months organising the Leverton Ball, which in recent years has become a bi-annual event, which encouraged Andy to support the event in the following years. Marcus and his wife, Laura, received support from the charity, which runs free ‘Home from Home’ accommodation supporting families with seriously ill children in hospital, when their son Harry suddenly fell ill and was rushed to Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Amongst all the uncertainty, The Sick Children’s Trust relieved one of their stresses by giving them a place to stay, just minutes from their son’s hospital bedside, at its Treetop House. Marcus and his family have been determined to raise funds for The Sick Children’s Trust so that other families who find themselves in a similar situation have a place to stay close to their child. Every year since 2016, Drainage 2000 has made a substantial donation by sponsoring the Leverton Balls alongside sourcing raffle prizes for the auctions.

I’d like to say a huge thank you to Andy, his family and everyone at Drainage 2000 for supporting the Leverton Balls. The yearly donations of £5,000 alongside raffle prizes has really helped to make a difference with the events. Not only does Andy’s company donate to the ball, but on the evenings he and his daughter Amelia help by arriving early to set up and sell raffle tickets. “It really means a lot to us to have such support from a local business. Before the events take place, I often have to pay out over £1,000 in deposits for the room hire, entertainment and all the other bits that come together to make the night a success - which is a big risk. With support from Drainage 2000, the financial burden is lifted somewhat and allows me to focus on selling tickets and ensuring that the evening raises as much money as possible!

Reverse advent calendar

Reverse Advent Calendar 2020

In 2020, Drainage 2000 got involved in the Sick Children’s Trust Christmas Reverse Advent Calendar, where rather than opening a chocolate on each day of the month, we instead donated a much-needed cleaning product to their Magnolia ‘Home from Home’.

Due to Covid, the necessity of providing a clean environment is more important than ever. These cleaning products helped the charity to keep their facilities squeaky clean, whilst families spent time together in the Magnolia home over Christmas.

The calendar gave Drainage 2000 the opportunity to get our entire workforce involved, enabling us to spread the message of the charity to all our team members and raise awareness of the importance of the Sick Children’s Trust.

Easter 2021

In Easter 2021, our Managing Director- Andy, donated hundreds of Easter Eggs to The Sick Children’s Trust Magnolia house. The eggs went down a treat with the families staying at the home!

The Sick Children’s Trust is a charity incredibly close to our hearts. Not only have we heard about the invaluable support provided to Marcus and his family, but the charity has also given our Office Manager, Lucy Pearson, a ‘Home from Home&rsuo; when her son required emergency treatment at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. “It&rsuo;s important for local businesses to give back - especially to such a worthwhile cause which is helping local families in a time when their lives are so difficult. To have met two families from the area that have talked passionately about how much the free ‘Home from Home&rsuo; accommodation has meant to them makes us realise the importance of our donation and support. We would encourage other businesses to get behind The Sick Children’s Trust or those in the community supporting it.

Newton Linford CC

Drainage 2000 have recently begun a sponsorship of the Newtown Linford Cricket Club’s junior coaching programme. The club have expressed a gap in their funding to bring targeted coaching to their 14- 17-year-olds in order to take them to the next level of cricket. Drainage 2000’s sponsorship will help them achieve this goal by enabling the club to put a multi- year programme in place to assist juniors to make the step up to senior cricket. This is something Drainage 2000 are proud to represent and assist with as we believe in creating opportunities for the younger generations wherever possible. We also fully invest in the nurturing of their passion for sport- an emotion that so many of us had as youths and still have today.

A note from the NLCC Committee about the work they do and what Drainage 2000’s sponsorship means for the club:

As a Club renowned for its fantastic junior programme, we are delighted that Drainage 2000 has committed to funding our Junior coaching over the next three years.

This investment in young talent will no doubt encourage a lifelong love of cricket in many aspiring boys and girls. Thank you, Drainage 2000!

Newtown Linford is a successful village cricket club currently playing in the Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket League Premier Division. We have a thriving junior section that is the future of the club and we invest significant time, resources and energy in developing this. We are an ECB All Stars hub attracting up to 65 children under the age of nine, introducing them to the sport, teaching them new skills, helping them make new friends and have a great time doing so.

Our Junior training nights are held on Friday during the summer and are regularly attended by up to 100 youngsters (including All Stars) along with their parents. We also run teams at Under 11, Under 13, Under 15 and Under 17 age groups playing in the Leicestershire Junior League, providing over 40 juniors with game time and coaching from our team of qualified coaches.

In 2021 we are also keen to run the latest ECB Dynamos cricket initiative which is the next step for those children who have been in the All-Stars programme, we are also looking to launch girls’ cricket at the club, partnering with local schools and creating an environment that provides girls with a great first experience of club cricket.

We are proud of our development efforts with several juniors having graduated to play in our three senior teams. We currently have three of our first team squad players in the Leicestershire County Cricket Club Academy and another graduate of our junior programme has just signed a professional contract with Leicestershire.

We are actively involved with Leicestershire’s Academy age groups, hosting games at our ground and nominating our junior players for county trials. We are constantly striving to develop young players and the partnership with Drainage 2000 will be of enormous help to us.

Drainage 2000’s generous sponsorship of junior coaching will enable us to engage the services of a professional coaching team to supplement our own coaches and provide targeted coaching for our promising young players to prepare them to make the step up into Senior cricket.

Sponsorship will also enable a number of our coaches to gain further badges/qualifications so that the investment will go on benefitting the club for many years.

Aztecs hockey club

Drainage 2000 have recently taken on a sponsorship with Mansfield Aztecs Junior Hockey Club. Mansfield Aztec Hockey Club is a Sunday League hockey club, made up of boys and girls aged 6- 16 years old. Supporting local sports teams like Aztecs Hockey Club is a really rewarding way of giving back to the community, especially as it benefits our future sportsmen and sportswomen. Our Managing Director- Andy Moreton has generously sponsored the team’s shirts for the season. Due to Andy’s donation, the club have featured Drainage 2000 on their shirts, and they look fantastic!

Andy also has a personal connection to the club, his daughter- Amelia is a keen hockey player and trains with the club whilst she awaits turning old enough to get a license to represent a club competitively.

It’s a great opportunity for Drainage 2000 to be able to support a club so dedicated to young people and providing them with a platform to develop skills they love.

A few words from Mansfield Aztec Hockey Club about the sponsorship:

We at Mansfield Aztecs Junior Hockey Club would like to thank all of our sponsors for their support over the past year. These sponsors have helped financially support the running of the club as well as helping us to purchase new shirts for our teams and new jackets for our coaches!
